We have commenced the recording process for what could maybe, perchance, POSSIBLY, weather permitting, imaginably be a full-length release. This is still up for some debate. What is not up for debate is that it’s sounding good. Thanks to the adroit Brian Scheffer, we are capturing sounds none have heard before... like drums and guitars played so painstakingly off rhythm and out of tune it almost seems believable.

Our schedules not at work:

15 minute rule....1 minute later, full fine.

Sunday: 12p-3p ($5/hr late)*
Monday: 7p-10p ($20/hr late)*
Tuesday: 1p-4p ($5/hr late)*
Wednesday: 1p-4p ($10/hr late)*
Thursday: day off!!!!*
Friday: 3p-11p ($20/hr late) (handshake will suffice for alternate ventures)*
Saturday: day off!!!!*

*any day that we are playing a show requires practice (unless handshake sealed the night before) at least an hour plus practice time before leaving. ($20 fine, no 15 minute rule)

Hey y’all.
We’re putting together a few CDs of our demos for review.
Basically, we’re surveying our friends and fellow musicians to narrow down the tracks that will go on our next EP. We’re going to record the real versions sometime in the next month. If any of you would like to volunteer, send us your mailing address and we’ll send you a package! Or just find us. Whatevs.
To read a preliminary assessment by Scot’s dad read our blog titled, “Somewhere Near the End of Civilization / 07.26.09” It’s a pretty amusing read.

Chicago after dark....

So, our show at Quencher’s Saloon in Chicago went okay. The sound wasn’t really working for us. It kinda felt like we were guessing most of the time. Luckily, I think we were guessing correctly.
We met a young lady up there named Katie, who was sporting a Way-Out Club t-shirt. Small world.
Got to hang out with the Josher a little bit. He complains like a sober fucking bouncer!
Bela and Marty made an appearance. Sorry we didn’t make your party, Marty. We were a little tardy and a lotta farty.
The other bands were pretty good. The Amino Acids were quite the spectacle. The band members wore smiling masks with white pantyhose pulled over them. They had a theramin player! Pretty cool. They were actually a little disconcerting. Something about watching a band blankly smiling for 40 minutes dehumanizes them. I guess that’s the point since they are aliens sent down to earth to play surf rock! We might play a show with them somewhere down the road.
I had a tater tot pizza! That’s what I said.
After that we got hotel drunk and watched Roseanne and MASH, the movie. Good night!
Sorry we couldn’t fit you in the car, Zimm!
